ULTRA NORTH is the new ultra-marathon for the North East.
Run, jog or walk along this charming route exploring some of the North East industrial heritage, glorious trails and wonderful woodland.
ULTRA NORTH is an ideal event for both those looking to take on their first Ultra, and experienced ultra runners, looking for a new challenge.
ULTRA NORTH 55 provides a 55km distance ultra marathon starting on Newcastle's Quayside, close to Newcastle Central Station, and with plenty of accommodation options. NORTH 27.5 starts at the halfway point of the 55km event in Chopwell Wood with transport from the city centre to the start line available to be purchased.
The course will be fully marked and both distances finish close to Newcastle city centre, where participants can celebrate their achievements.

Becoming an ULTRA NORTH volunteer you will get an ULTRA NORTH tee shirt and be part of an amazing team of volunteers who help make the event and experience extra special. You can choose which checkpoint to help out at or select the finish line to be ready to greet our fantastic participants.

SPECTATORS & SUPPORTERS
ULTRA NORTH is a fantastic event, not only for participants but also for spectators and supporters.
The route is accessible for support crews at numerous points throughout its 27.5/55km journey, allowing your supporters to join you at multiple locations.
Arrange to see your friends at numerous points along the route. They can also join you at the finish in Newcastle and then celebrate in the bars and restaurants of Newcastle for a celebratory drink.
Alternatively, register your interest in being one of the ULTRA NORTH team of volunteers.

Please be respectful to all other park and footpath users
We have a zero-tolerance policy on littering. We are travelling through some of the North East's finest parks and wilderness areas. Please respect the environment
Please bring your own collapsible cup - we don't issue plastic cups or bottles at the Checkpoints
Cut-off times are strictly observed
