Covid-19 Secure Event Protocol
This advice will be updated in line with national and local regulations in place at the time of the event.
The ULTRA NORTH event will be taking place with approval from Newcastle City Council, and all other stakeholders, to ensure we comply with the latest regulations and guidance to deliver a Covid-secure event.
We will continue to liaise and plan right up until the event, and due to Covid-19 we will be introducing a number of additional measures to ensure the event can go ahead.
As guidance is subject to change, please make sure you monitor the website, check your emails and follow the latest communications and instructions right up until event day.
Help us to help you and make sure we deliver a safe, Covid secure event.
About you
Please make sure that you train properly for the event, to give yourself the best chance of enjoying the day.
Please do not attend the event if:

You have had any signs or symptoms of Covid -19 in the past 14 days

You have had a fever of equal or more than 38 degrees Celsius
-
You have been in contact with anyone who has been sick or has been symptomatic in the last 14 days.

Make sure you do not travel to an international destination with ongoing Covid -19 transmission 14 days prior to the event day.

If you are in any doubt, please consult your local GP.
Arrival on site

Plan your journey in advance, but please do not arrive more than 1 hour before your scheduled start time.
Run ready
-
Read, check and read again our pre-event emails and communications for last minute advice and instructions

Come prepared, ready to run; limit the belongings you bring

Bring with you own water, and make sure you can manage your own hydration requirements on the day.
Run smart

Do not attend the event if you feel unwell or are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms on the day
-
Run on the left, overtake on the right, when there is space to do so
-
Be considerate to your fellow runners, no spitting, snorting, or snot rockets within 10m of your fellow runners.
Run safe

Run with a fully charged your mobile phone and download the What three words event app, should you get into difficulty
-
Maintain social distancing of 2m+ and look out and adhere to floor markings at the start and finish

Please do not bunch with fellow runners on the route and avoid ‘slipstream’ of the runner ahead of you

Wear face masks at the venue prior to the start and after your finish (face masks are not obligatory during the run itself)

Please use the multiple hygiene stations around the site and when you see them

Make sure you sanitize properly before and after toilet use.
Track and Trace
If you experience Covid symptoms soon after the event, please make this known through the government’s track and trace system. Please also contact us here at the same time.
